Redwood Retreat

As the chill of winter finally fades away, it's time to embrace the invigorating freshness of spring in Northern Michigan. In Oscoda, as nature awakens and blooms, it beckons us outdoors to savor the crisp air and bask in the season's renewal. Whether it's casting a line, teeing off on the golf course, embarking on a muddy adventure, or simply immersing oneself in exploration, there's no shortage of ways to enjoy the great outdoors. Wander along scenic trails for birdwatching or spring wildflower hikes during sunny spells, and delve into the rich cultural offerings of the region on overcast days. Whenever the urge to wander strikes, Oscoda stands as the perfect springtime destination for exploration and discovery.

Fly Fishing the AuSable River

Picture yourself quietly tracing the winding banks of the picturesque AuSable River, in search of that ideal spot to drop a line for trout, salmon, walleye, and perch. With each graceful flick of your fly across the water's surface, you find yourself transported miles away from the chaos of everyday life, wholly absorbed in the anticipation of your next cast.

Huron East ORV Trail

Spring offers an ideal opportunity to hit the trails and embrace the muddy terrain! In Oscoda, our destination of choice is the Huron East Trail. This trail, which transforms into a snowmobile route during winter, spans an impressive 45.4 miles as an out-and-back trail system. With four conveniently located trailheads, you can customize your ride to suit your preferences.

The Huron East ORV Trail welcomes ORVs 50″ or less, including off-road motorcycles, along its graded path. Additionally, this trail seamlessly connects with both the Huron-Sand Lake Spur to the south and the Old State House Route to the north.

Moreover, US Forest Service roads are now open to ORV/ATV use, further expanding the possibilities for an exhilarating spring trail adventure.
